Conférence Université Ouverte antenne de Montbéliard
Louis Pergaud: schoolteacher in the Doubs, writer in Paris, soldier in the Meuse
Conference organised by the Open University of Montbéliard
With Brice Leibundgut, President of the Friends of Louis Pergaud
Follow in the footsteps of Louis Pergaud, from his childhood in the Doubs to his first teaching posts, before his Parisian years marked by rapid literary success.
The talk will also look back at the eight months he spent at the front, on the Woëvre plain, until his tragic fate during the First World War.
Particular emphasis will be placed on Louis Pergaud's links with the Montbéliard region, to better understand the imprint the writer left on the area.
