Journées Européennes du Patrimoine dans le Pays de Montbéliard
The theme of the 42nd European Heritage Days, on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September, is architectural heritage. This theme encompasses a multitude of places that are milestones in the history of our region, markers of its identity and landmarks in our environment. Architectural heritage shapes our landscapes and our cultural memory. It's hard to imagine Montbéliard today without its castle, Place Saint-Martin without its temple, or Mandeure without the remains of its ancient theatre.
The diversity and plurality of this architectural heritage can be discovered over the course of these two days: rural and vernacular heritage in Vandoncourt, Beutal and Bethoncourt; military heritage at Fort Lachaux and Fort du Mont-Bart; religious heritage at the Espace Jean Touret in Courcelles-lès-Montbéliard, in the churches of Audincourt, the temple in Dambenois and the Evangelical Mennonite church in Montbéliard; and finally, industrial heritage in the seven valleys of the Pays de Montbéliard.
The guide-lecturers will accompany you on a number of tours to reveal all the treasures on offer.
