Mercredi découverte : Randonnée à Chambabon

Probably of Roman origin, a fortified settlement is thought to have protected the bridge at the mouth of the Roide and the bridge built over the Ranceuse as early as the 12th century. The hamlet was destroyed by raiders in 1438 and the village was never rebuilt. The earthen embankment and the base of the square tower overlooking the valley bear witness to this eventful history.
