Ouvertures Musicales avec MA Scène Nationale L’OVH, LES ENSEIGNANT·ES ET LES ÉLÈVES DU CONSERVATOIRE DU PAYS DE MONTBÉLIARD

This year's OUVERTURES MUSICALES! showcase the orchestra in all its diversity, from large symphonic ensembles to street bands, from collective performances to participatory experiences.

SQUARE SPONECK

APÉRO-TANGO
Tango ensemble from the Conservatoire du Pays de Montbéliard
AT 12.15PM / DURATION 45 MIN
To the sound of the bandoneon, for the duration of an aperitif-concert, the Square Sponeck is transformed into a suburb of Buenos Aires where you can be carried away and bewitched by the magic of Argentine Tango. Performed by the Conservatoire's Tango Ensemble in the style of an Orquesta típica (violins, cello, double bass, piano, clarinet and, of course, bandoneon), the music, a cross between tradition and Piazzolla's tango nuevo, resonates with the same vibration: that of bodies in movement, raw emotions and untouched passion.

THE BATTLE OF THE CONDUCTORS
Victor Hugo Orchestra and you
AT 3.30PM / LASTS 1 HOUR
Have you always dreamed of taking the conductor's place? Jean-François Verdier is ready to entrust you with his baton... as long as you prove yourself! Faced with the musicians of the Orchestre Victor Hugo, you'll have to rise to three challenges: guiding the tempo, mastering the power of the ensemble and pulling off the implacable stop and go. So it's up to you! Three tests, one desk for a musical battle that's as joyful as it is unpredictable.

PARVIS DES DROITS DE L'HOMME

BRASS CONCERT
Musicians from the Orchestre Victor Hugo
AT 3PM / DURATION 30 MIN
Eight musicians from the Orchestra will take you on a joyous and eclectic musical journey, mixing jazz, opera, film music and traditional tunes from near and far.

COURTYARD OF THE MUSÉE BEURNIER-ROSSEL

BEFORE CONCERT
AT 5PM / LASTS 1 HOUR
A foretaste of your symphonic evening, in the company of Laurent Comte, assistant conductor of the Orchestra, and a number of musicians. Shostakovich, a composer of the Soviet era, arouses passions as much for the power of his work as for the historical context in which it is set. Discover the treasures of Symphony No. 5 and gain an insight into the composer's intentions. We'll also be talking about Régis Campo, composer in residence at the Besançon International Music Festival, a chance for an orchestra to perform a work by a composer with whom the musicians can engage in dialogue.

THE ÉTU'PEUX BAND TAKES OVER!
The Étu'peux municipal brass band
AT 6PM / DURATION 45 MIN
A newcomer to Étupes, the banda takes over from the municipal wind band, bringing a breath of fresh air to the repertoire: traditional tunes, popular songs, hits from yesterday and today. A true musical all-rounder, it plays everywhere... even where you least expect it. Etu'can sing, dance, clap... A joyful invitation to join the party!

THEATRE

OPEN REHEARSAL
Victor Hugo Orchestra
11AM / LASTS 1 HOUR
Backstage before the concert! Attend the Orchestra's final rehearsal and immerse yourself in the art of final fine-tuning. A few hours before the start of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, the musicians are tuning up for the last time, polishing their scores and adjusting their music stands... This full-scale rehearsal of forty musicians, with commentary by Jean-François Verdier, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of an orchestra and a different way of experiencing symphonic music.
