Das Fort du Mont-Bart in Bavans
Das Fort, zwischen 1874 und 1877 auf dem Mont-Bart erbaut, war ein Glied einer nationalen Verteidigungslinie, die nach der Niederlage von 1870 errichtet wurde. Es ergänzt den befestigten Gürtel von Belfort, indem es dessen Umgehung verhindert. Das Fort verfügt über mehrere interessante Elemente, von denen die beeindruckendsten die überdachte Innenstraße sind, die auf beiden Seiten von den Fassaden der Kaserne gesäumt wird, sowie ein vollständig gepanzerter Raum.
Vom Gipfel des Forts (497 m) aus genießt man einen herrlichen 360°-Panoramablick über das Pays de Montbéliard, die Vogesen und den Jura (mit Orientierungstafel). Außerdem stehen 7 km angelegte Waldwege mit Spiel- und Picknickplätzen zur Verfügung.

> Im Frühling, zwischen April und Juni:
An Wochenenden und Feiertagen: selbstständige Besichtigungen von 14:00 bis 18:00 Uhr und geführte Besichtigung um 15:00 Uhr (letzter Einlass um 17:00 Uhr).
Geschlossen am 19. und 20. April sowie am 14. und 15. Juni.
> Während der Sommerferien, vom 5. Juli bis 31. August:
Täglich selbstständige Besichtigungen von 14:00 bis 18:00 Uhr, außer montags (letzter Einlass um 17:00 Uhr).
Geführte Besichtigungen um 14:30 Uhr freitags, samstags, sonntags und an Feiertagen.>
Im September:
An Wochenenden selbstständige Besichtigungen von 14:00 bis 18:00 Uhr und geführte Besichtigung um 15:00 Uhr (letzter Einlass um 17:00 Uhr).

Eintritt: kostenlos.

Fort Lachaux in Grand-Charmont
Fort Lachaux is located at an altitude of 410 metres, on the top of a hill on the border between the municipalities of Montbéliard and Grand-Charmont. It is part of the southern Belfort defensive belt, just like Fort du Mont-Bart. Its elevated position (406 metres above sea level) allowed it to monitor the natural passages formed by the Doubs and Lizaine rivers. It offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, from the Vosges to the Jura and as far as the Black Forest. A viewpoint and an orientation table help visitors identify the landscape.
Access is via Rue du Fort Lachaux from Montbéliard.
> On site:
- an educational farm offering activities for school groups as well as the general public. Open every day of the year;
- a shooting range;
- a remote-controlled car track;
- and an escape game.

The Roches Battery in Pont-de-Roide
Built between 1877 and 1879, this is one of the key elements of the Lomont defensive system.
The Roches Battery had a garrison of 246 men (6 officers, 16 non-commissioned officers, 224 soldiers) and an infirmary that could accommodate 10 patients.
The fort consists of several sections: battery entrance, barracks, bakery, powder magazine, double caponier, underground magazine, and an optical post that ensured communication with Fort du Mont-Bart.
At an altitude of 614 metres, it is a must-see site in Pont-de-Roide. It offers panoramic views over the Doubs valley (with an orientation table and an “Instagrammable” photo spot), a visit to a historic building, as well as opportunities for climbing and hiking.
