Festival Fernand Léger en musique : programme septembre - décembre 2025
"In 2025, the Fernand Léger Festival continues. Fernand Léger died 70 years ago, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy. The stained glass windows in the Sacré-Cœur church, which bear his signature, occupy a special place in his career. To highlight Fernand Léger's importance in the history of art and his collaborative creations in other artistic fields, the Engrenages artistiques, Patrimoine et Transmission association is organising the 2nd Fernand Léger Festival, a series of cultural events organised with the help of a number of local partners and players.
The 2025 edition will focus in particular on Jean Bazaine (1904-2001), one of the major artists who, along with Fernand Léger, helped to build the Sacré-Cœur church in Audincourt. A leading figure in the Nouvelle Ecole de Paris and 20th-century avant-garde painting, Jean Bazaine was responsible for the large mosaic of the porch and the walls of the baptismal font.
