EXPOSITION : INUSABLE

Before the end of the 1960s, clothes, shoes, machines, tools, bikes... everything had to last. Buyers wanted it and sellers promised it. Solid, wear-resistant, robust, tear-proof were the most recurrent advertising slogans: durability was a shared value and represented, in those years, the success of a product. The exhibition, consisting of 23 advertising posters from the period highlighting the robustness of the products, is intended to reflect on the excesses of a mode of consumption that pushes us to throw away even before we wear out, to waste without counting the cost. Exhibition accompanied by a quiz and a family game.

All audiences, from 8 years old.
Free access.
Exhibition developed by the association HOP (Halte à l'Obsolescence programmée), in partnership with the
Bibliothèque Forney and Espace Firmin Bouisset, with the support of the City of Paris
