The fort Lachaux in Grand-Charmont

Fort Lachaux is located at an altitude of 410 metres, at the top of a hill on the border between the communes of Montbéliard and Grand-Charmont. It forms part of the defensive belt to the south of Belfort, as does the fort at Mont Bart. Its elevated position (406 metres above sea level) enabled it to keep watch over the gaps formed by the Doubs and Lizaine rivers. It offers a fine panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, the Vosges, the Jura and the Black Forest.
An interior section of the fort can be accessed via the eastern belvedere.

On site:
- An activity farm offers a wide range of activities for schoolchildren and the general public.
- Shooting range
- Radio-controlled car track
- Escape game
- Picnic area
- Playground
