Evan Vercoutre is a musician, improviser and teacher. In the course of his career, he has collaborated with brilliant teaching artists in a number of prestigious establishments, including the Conservatoire de Vaux-le-Pénil, the CRR 93 in Aubervilliers-La Courneuve, the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg and the Musikhochschule in Basel.
After a master's degree in free improvisation under Alfred Zimmerlin and Fred Frith, free improvisation became the core of his teaching. In 2018, he played with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg in Frank Zappa's "200 Motels" and took part in the premiere of Bruno Mantovani's "Suite Siddhartha" in 2023. Since 2019, he has been teaching classical guitar and free improvisation at the Conservatoire Départemental du Pays de Montbéliard.
