Musique baroque : Airs de cour

By the Conservatoire du Pays de Montbéliard
A secular genre emblematic of the whole of 17th-century France, the air de cour, combining poetry and music, illustrates the growing refinement of the salons and high society.
Through its rhetorical and expressive qualities, the voice was the model for music, and the literary text was the medium for the development of musical language. A new poetry, more lyrical and gallant, imitated both from antiquity and contemporary Italian models, responded to the new musical genre of airs de cour. This concert will also feature instrumental pieces that will punctuate and nourish the sensitive atmosphere of this programme.
On the programme: P. Guedron, A. Boesset, E. Moulinier, M. Lambert, J.M. Hotteterre...
With C. Bunod, voice / K. Murakami, flute / C. Baeumler, viola da gamba / N. Aubin, harpsichord
In partnership with the City of Montbéliard, as part of the Musicales de l'Hôtel de ville festival.
