Un petit concert spirituel

By the Conservatoire du Pays de Montbéliard
This concert will transport us to German polyphony and polychorality in the 17th century with Heinrich Schütz,
and at the dawn of the 21st century with Philippe Hersant.
Heinrich Schütz (1585-1672) played a key role in introducing the new Italian styles of his famous teacher, Claudio Monteverdi. This Italian influence was the initial impetus for Baroque music in Germany. The same text, with its immense tragic potential, will set the music of Heinrich Schütz against that of Philippe Hersant, creating a magnificent dialogue between the choir, the viola da gamba and the positive organ.

Nicolas Aubin , positive organ
Chantal Bauemler, viola da gamba
