Guts has always preferred the shadows to the spotlight. Whether producing for himself or for others, with machines or instruments, his priority has always been music. But he has another passion: that of a compulsive digger, exploring deeper and deeper into dusty record crates to reveal hidden treasures.
Manchester-based Mr. Scruff is a multi-genre producer, cartoonist and DJ. Since 1984, he has been enthusiastically mixing sets ranging from soul, funk, reggae, Afro, jazz and Latin to hip-hop, electro, house, new wave and techno, sometimes in B2B with other curious and inventive DJs.
