Raoul Vignal, a musician from Lyon renowned for his delicate finger-picking and melancholy vocals, continues his hypnotic universe after Years in Marble (2021). Shadow Bands is an album inspired by his return to Lyon after a ten-year absence, blending childhood memories with the passage of time.
His songs become veritable nomadic postcards, inspired by his travels to Berlin, Spain and Sète. Each place revives emotions and encounters, from the war announced at a distance to the poetic evocation of the stag's bellowing. The album retains its simplicity and crystalline beauty, enhanced by Lucien Chatin's subtle drumming.
Through Shadow Bands, Raoul Vignal explores his relationship with time, roots and the desire to be elsewhere, offering an intimate, contemplative concert at the Temple Allejoie, as part of the BO District festival.
