Conférence Université Ouverte antenne de Montbéliard

Conference - Université Ouverte, Montbéliard branch

To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, this lecture looks back at a major event in modern history: the United States Declaration of Independence.

Hosted by Edmond Dziembowski, Emeritus Professor of Modern History at the Université Marie et Louis Pasteur, the conference takes a look back to 4 July 1776, when the 'Founding Fathers', meeting in Philadelphia, adopted a text destined to leave a lasting mark on world political history.

Beyond the event itself, this talk highlights the legacy of the Declaration in shaping American political culture and, more broadly, that of contemporary democracies.
