Exposition : Les poupées d'antan

Let yourself be carried away by the magic of time as it passes... From 23 May 2026, the Musée de la Paysannerie et des Vieux Métiers in Valentigney invites you on a tender, nostalgic journey to the heart of childhood in days gone by, with its temporary exhibition "Poupées d'antan" ("Dolls of yesteryear").
Each of these playmates tells the story of a particular era, a particular skill, a story of a little girl dreaming with her eyes wide open. Through a carefully assembled collection, the exhibition traces the evolution of these precious toys and reveals what they tell us about the lifestyles, traditions and daily lives of rural families in the Montbéliard region.
Much more than just toys, the dolls of yesteryear were real objects of transmission: they were cherished, repaired and passed down from generation to generation.
This exhibition is perfectly in keeping with the spirit of the museum, which is dedicated to the living memory of the people of the land and the craftsmen of the past.
