Musique baroque : de Schenk à Corelli
The Conservatoire du Pays de Montbéliard is presenting a concert dedicated to Baroque music and the encounter between two composers, Johannes Schenck and Arcangelo Corelli.
A virtuoso violist and chamber musician in the service of Johann Wilhelm, Elector of the Palatinate, Schenck – still little known to the general public – will be juxtaposed with the works of Corelli, a leading figure of the Italian style that was very much in vogue in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
The programme highlights the Italian influences present in Schenck’s music, as well as the melodic and harmonic richness of their compositions. The sounds of the theorbo, the viola da gamba and the harpsichord will blend to offer an intimate and refined interpretation of this Baroque repertoire.
Featuring Alice Letort on the theorbo, Chantal Baeumler and Françoise Temperman on the violas da gamba, and Nicolas Aubin on the harpsichord. With the support of the parish and the municipality of Bart.
