Vieux-Challoween
For some, the afternoon begins the day before, in the kitchen. The pumpkin tarts for the competition are prepared at home, then taken to the Place de la Fraternité in Vieux-Charmont on Saturday 31 October. The rest takes place on the day.
From 2 pm to 6 pm, the Charmont Festival Committee brings the square to life for Halloween. Children have their faces painted, then tackle a guessing game: how much does the pumpkin weigh? Everyone offers their best guess, down to the nearest gram or just off the top of their head.
Between games, music fills the square and the refreshment stand serves drinks and sweets. Other surprises have been announced, though no further details are available at this stage.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
