Vandoncourt - a town of character
The village of Vandoncourt has the ‘Cité de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté’ accreditation and contains a few small treasures which are the pride of the residents.

The Protestant church is the most important and outstanding building in the village. Built in 1769 on the site of a former building, it comprises a rectangular nave with an apse and a square bell tower with thick walls. It has an ‘imperial-style’ roof and two large bells dating from the last century and, more recently, a sundial.

The fortified house is located near a place called ‘le tilleul’ and is the oldest house in the village (16th century) - it has probably been redesigned or even rebuilt many times. Formerly the bailiff's house (a representative of the Prince), it kept provisions for the community in its vast vaulted cellars, which were intended to ward off the unfortunately all too frequent famines. There is talk of a tunnel which leads there...

‘La Damassine’, the house of nature and orchards, is a unique place, welcoming all those who are curious about nature and wish to preserve it. Several events are organised there.

The Vandoncourt heritage discovery route
Starting from La Damassine, this 5 km signposted route (2 hours walking) allows you to explore the heritage of Vandoncourt as far as the viewpoint (highest point of the village). Here, there is a viewpoint indicator with panels to read about the landscape and far-reaching views of the Lomont massif in the Vosges and extending across the Pays de Montbéliard.
