Concert : Grand choeur éphémère
By the Conservatoire du Pays de Montbéliard
Five centuries of English music. The Grand chœur éphémère brings together amateur singers from various choirs in the conurbation. Elizabeth I and Elizabeth II are two queens who left their mark on their century, two music-loving queens to frame five centuries of English music. The first, daughter of Henry VIII, marked the advent of William Shakespeare's English theatre, while the second will be remembered for the longevity of her reign.
This programme recounts the pomp of a coronation, the tears of a funeral or the joyous laughter of a royal wedding, accompanied by music by H. Purcell, G.F. Haendel, B. Britten and many others.
Conductor: Cédric Meyer Accompanist: Annie Corrado and Nicolas Aubin
With the support of the parish and municipality of Audincourt and with the participation of the PMA Heritage Department
