The Fort Mont-Bart

The Fort, built between 1874 and 1877 on Mont-Bart, formed part of a national defence chain established following the defeat of 1870. It completes Belfort’s fortified belt by preventing an attack from the flanks. The fort features several interesting elements, the most impressive of which are the covered internal street, flanked on either side by the facades of the barracks, and a fully armoured room.
From the top of the Fort (497 m), you can enjoy a superb view over the Montbéliard region (orientation board).
You can also make the most of the 7 km of forest track, which features play areas and picnic spots.

Bonus: a fun family exploration of the fort with a activity booklet for children (aged 7–12), available free of charge at reception.

Guided tours of the site take place at 3 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays.
