Grands Ansanges Municipal Campsite
Nestled between the Vosges and the Jura, about fifteen kilometres south of Montbéliard and just a few kilometres from the German border, enjoy a fully equipped campsite by the river in the peaceful town of Mandeure. Less than 2 km from the campsite, don’t miss the ancient theatre of Mandeure, a listed historic monument. It was one of the largest theatres in Gaul, capable of seating up to 18,000 spectators! Its setting was on a par with the greatest Roman theatres. Access is free all year round.
From the theatre, follow the walking trail to the Mandeure viewpoint and enjoy a panoramic view of the Doubs valley, complete with an orientation board, a playground and picnic tables. The walk is 9 km long, takes 3 hours 15 minutes and involves a significant climb. From Mandeure, you can easily reach Montbéliard by public transport or by bike. Visit the ‘Cité des Princes’ and its rich and colourful heritage. Among these, don’t miss Montbéliard-Wurtemberg Castle, Saint-Martin’s Church and Saint-Maimboeuf’s Church. For
a stroll in the countryside, head to Près-la-Rose Park, situated between the Rhône–Rhine Canal and the River Allan.
The campsite reception is open until 13 September:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 14:00 & 16:30 – 21:00
- Saturdays: 8.30 am – 2.00 pm & 4.30 pm – 9.00 pm
- Sunday: 8.30 am – 9.00 pm (open all day)
Pets are welcome at the Grands Ansanges Municipal Campsite and have access to as much water as they need.
