To mark European Heritage Days, the Audincourt Art Centre invites you to explore contemporary heritage through a programme packed with discoveries and discussions centred on the materiality of artworks.
To kick off this year’s event, a talk with the artist Agnès Descamps will offer an insight into her career and the vital role that materials play in her artistic practice.
Throughout the weekend, let us guide you on a journey of discovery through the outdoor works from the Patt Collection, join Jacques Sauveageot on a birdwatching tour of the park, and make the most of the Art Centre’s special open-house event, with free admission.
A highlight of the programme is the talk by Françoise Le Corre, an art restorer and artist, which will offer an in-depth look behind the scenes of restoration. How do you preserve a work of art? Can everything be restored? How do materials contribute to the meaning of a creation, whether ancient or contemporary? A fascinating talk to gain a better understanding of the life of artworks.
Combining heritage, contemporary art and nature, the Art Centre invites you to a welcoming weekend, accessible to all, blending discoveries, discussions and diverse perspectives on the creative process of yesterday and today.

Pre-event: Tuesday 15 September at 6.00 pm, a talk with Agnès Descamps (free, booking required by email to the Art Centre).
Friday 18 September: self-guided tour from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm (admission fee applies).
Saturday 19 September: open from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm, tour of the outdoor artworks at 3.00 pm, talk at 6.00 pm, special late-night opening from 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm (free).
Sunday 20 September: Birdwatching tour ‘The Birds of the Park’ led by specialist guide Jacques Sauveageot at 10.00 (free subject to booking)
