Concert avec MAScène Nationale : L’Aigu, c’est grave ?
A symphonic concert presented by MA scène nationale. The Victor Hugo Orchestra, conducted by Debora Waldman, will accompany two soloists: Harmonie Maltère on the piccolo and Stéphane Labeyrie on the tuba.
The high and low registers will therefore share the stage. The programme ranges from Vivaldi to John Williams. For the piccolo, Vivaldi’s Concerto in C major, RV 443, and Lowell Liebermann’s Concerto, Op. 50. For the tuba, concertos by Ralph Vaughan Williams and John Williams, the latter well known to film music enthusiasts. Vaughan Williams’s ‘Fantasia on “Greensleeves”’ rounds off the programme.
The two instruments respond to one another, intertwine and interact with the strings. Close your eyes for a moment: the register alone is enough to tell who is speaking. There is no need to be familiar with the repertoire to follow the interplay.
