Accueil Vélo: A Quality Label for Cyclists

The Pays de Montbéliard Tourist Office was awarded the "Accueil Vélo" (Cyclists Welcome) label in December 2019.

This national label, managed by France Vélo Tourisme, is intended for tourism professionals such as accommodation providers, bike rental and repair services, and tourist offices located within 5 km of a signposted cycling route (greenways, cycle routes, etc.).

Its purpose is to guarantee:

• a high-quality welcome,
• and quality services along cycling routes for touring cyclists.

Services Offered by the Pays de Montbéliard Tourist Office

The Tourist Office offers the following services for cycle tourists:

• An electric bike battery charging station (in partnership with the Grandes Traversées du Jura).
• Bike rentals (adult and children's hybrid bikes, adult e-bikes).
• Information on cycling routes in the region and nearby areas.
• Practical information (weather forecasts, emergency numbers, nearby bike repair shops and rental services, train schedules accepting bicycles, etc.).
• Access to restrooms and drinking water.
• Bike parking and secure bike lockers.
• A repair kit available on request.

From April to the end of September, these same services are also available at our Capitainerie office located at the marina along the EuroVelo 6 route.

EuroVelo 6 in the Pays de Montbéliard

Stretching from the Black Sea to the Atlantic Ocean, from Budapest to Nantes, EuroVelo 6 offers an exceptional journey through culture and nature, crossing borders with ease and leading cyclists to remarkable and often unexpected sites.

Running for 32 km through the Pays de Montbéliard, EuroVelo 6 follows the Rhône-Rhine Canal, the Allan River and the Doubs River. The route is entirely safe, traffic-free and flat. Along the way, cyclists can discover the Montbéliard Marina, the Près-la-Rose Park, engineering landmarks such as the Allenjoie Canal Bridge (1926), the Courcelles-lès-Montbéliard Drawbridge (1914), and numerous locks.
