La Damassine in Vandoncourt
This house of nature and orchards located in Vandoncourt is dedicated to nature and to local fruit varieties in particular. It has its own special press.

Built to high-quality environmental standards, with a wooden frame and straw insulation, La Damassine is a unique place which welcomes everyone who is interested in nature and who is keen to preserve it.

Permanent exhibitions to enjoy: energy trail, around the orchards (local varieties, advice on creating and maintaining orchards, etc.), find out about the landscapes of the Pays de Montbéliard region, natural gardening and composting. Temporary exhibitions are also organised.

A series of training courses on fruit growing to learn how to create your own orchard, prune your fruit trees, propagate them, keep them healthy and process the fruit, etc.

A gourmet break in the bar-shop
To sample the beautiful juice pressed on site, local beer and a few sweet treats made with fruit (ice-cream, home-made cakes and tarts!) You can also enjoy some local products, including food, drink, souvenirs, books and basketry, etc.

A fruit press to create your own apple, pear or quince juice (open from September to November, please enquire about prices).

Rental processing equipment: honey extractor, nut press, autoclave for sterilising jars, fully-equipped kitchen.

Direct access to nature

A large managed park perfect for relaxation and exploration, also accessible outside opening hours, with playgrounds for children, picnic areas, 2 educational orchards, a vegetable garden, an illustrated information panel about the landscape and an interactive exhibition on the birds in our gardens, etc.

Walks and hikes in the vicinity with the discovery circuit of the heritage of Vandoncourt, labeled "Cité de caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté".

La Damassine is part of the Doubs Tourisme ‘Made in Chez Nous’ network.

  • During school Holidays (zone A): Tuesday to Sunday 2 pm to 6 pm

Closed on Monday (except if it is a public holiday) and May 1. Annual closure from 24 December to the 1st Saturday of the February holidays (zone A) inclusive.
