Screening of the documentary “La forêt, c’est la classe !” by Daniel Schlosser (52 mins, 2024).
Whilst outdoor schooling is already well established in some European countries, it remains a marginal practice in France. However, for the past three years, Élise Sergent, a teacher of a mixed-age class at the state school in Mancenans in the Doubs, has been teaching in the forest one day a week, whatever the weather. The film follows this unique educational experiment, observing its effects on the children, their sense of community, their learning and their relationship with the environment.
The director will be present during the screening to discuss the film with the audience.
