Two little girls, Mei and Satsuki, move with their father into a large house in the countryside to be closer to the hospital where their mother is staying. They discover their new neighbours – creatures invisible to other humans, who are marvellous yet very discreet: Big Totoro, Medium Totoro (Chu-Totoro) and Little Totoro (Chibi-Totoro). With his round belly, Totoro is a rare and fascinating being, a spirit of the forest... He feeds on acorns and nuts. He can fly and travel on the ‘Cat Bus’. He sleeps during the day, but on full-moon nights, he loves to play with magical ocarinas...
